People have asked, why should this be a holiday? I feel it should be a holiday more than MLK day. Thousands of people died on 9/11 and deserve the rememberance and respect. That day is a lot more deserving than MLK day.

The government is too busy stealing our money and concealing the truth. Haven't you heard? September 11th should be a holiday. A day to remember all who lost their lives on that horrible day.

is the beinging or end of the great depression a holiday? or how about the assination of JFK, or even peral harbor. i got one how about we make something about the civil war a holiday.

i mean come on if we make 9/11 a holiday we should make thoughs all holidays as well. i mean students and working people would be happy because they will have the day off, but there is more to a holiday then just a disaster. if it had a exelent cause then it might go though congress to make it a holiday. but since it was completely negitive it will never be a holiday, it will just be remembers in are hearts

A Federal holiday? No we should always remember and say a prayer on that day but it doesn't need to be a holiday. MLK and Caesar Chavez days, in my book, are just an excuse people made up not to work.

I really dont see you point, Why would we want to make that a holiday, what would that be saying to all those families that lost loved ones that terrible day... to me a holiday is a day for celebrating. In this case they have a sort of holiday already, it's called a funeral.

It is called Patriot Day by Executive Order of the President. That was done within a short time after the attack on America. A day to commemorate those who died and reflect on our nation's resolve in bringing those who did these deeds to justice. Not a day for white sales or getting drunk.
Let's leave it that way.

I think making 9/11 into a holiday would detract from its importance. Think about it, maybe people will start throwing 9/11 barbecues, or stores will have 9/11 sales.

For what? It doesn't deserve a holiday, do we make a holiday for WW1 or 2? There have been far worse things then this, time will pass, and this won't be as big as a deal as it is now.

Why make it a holiday. What holiday
so the Terrorists can celebrate even MORE!!!!

I think that would put the US up for ridicule for them
They all celebrated this event enough

I will NEVER give in to warped, brainwashed ideology of the mentally ill like them
or YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! burn in hell

MLK was made a holiday in 1986, not right after he died.

Besides, if you make it a holiday, "they" win...

How 'bout Nat'l Emergency Workers' Day. It doesn't have to be a day-off holiday like today (Veterans' Day), but it would be very appropriate.
