culturally diverse background and upbringing
civil rights lawyer

Illinois state legislator
Obama co-sponsored the enactment of conventional weapons control and transparency legislation, and made official trips to Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. In the 110th Congress, he has sponsored legislation on lobbying and electoral fraud, climate change, and care for returned U.S. military personnel.
Since announcing his candidacy in February 2007, Obama has emphasized ending the Iraq War and implementing universal health care as campaign themes.

~Article II, section 1, clause 5 of the US constitution reads as follows:
"No person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States, at the time of the adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen Years a resident within the United States."
Obama meets the constitutional criteria.
All he needs now to qualify for the job is to first get the nomination and the get more votes than the opposition (or at least a majority of the electoral votes).

Few past presidents have had great credentials to be president. Look at Lincoln. A failed store keeper. A poor congressman . A failed senate candidate. A great president. Those that had the credentials often failed. Hoover was a successful engineer. Had experience working in China. Held 2 cabinet positions. And was a terrible president. Obama is intelligent, insightful, charismatic and energetic. He might be a great president or he might not. One never knows until he becomes president.

i simply don't see his qualifications. he is a junior senator. isn't there like 99 other senators with equal or more experience. he was a legislature in illinois, but i don't see that as qualification. there must be 10s of thousands with that much experience around the country.
ron paul is the only hope for real change. besides, he is the only one that can beat hillary according to las vegas. they have never been wrong for a presidential election.
i like barack, but i just don't think he will give us enough change that is needed. ron paul wants to drastically change how things are run in washington. please take a look at him. there is a reason the mainstream media won't speak his name. the establishment is scared to death of him. hardly a mention when he set a record with over 37,000 donors on a single day last monday when he raised over 4.2 million.
barack couldn't even promise to have our troops out of iraq by the end of his first term. that is over 5 1/2 years from now. are you kidding me?
ron paul will have them out as soon as the generals on the ground say it can be done. as little as 3-6 months.
the anti war candidate will win. if its hillary vs the rambo republicans, then it will be hillary. if its hillary vs ron paul, ron paul is definately the anti war candidate. he will beat her.

I don't care for him but you could say:
1. He's younger and fresher than the others
2. He may have a new prospective on government since he's not "been around the block" as the older canidates have
3. He is a minority and would be better including all other minorities in his causes

Hmmm.... that's tough. Not only is he unqualified to be President, but he doesn't have a shot. If I could mention one positive thing, he did oppose the Iraqi war from the beginning, which is something no other candidate can say. So technically, he's the only one with the right to complain about it.
