or will it stay how you bought it no upgrades that apple sends out through updates?

so you can still recieve updates if your phone was unlocked (say i bought it from ebay) but those updates will "unlock the unlock" and make it only for at and t?

Yes, you can still update,but the chances are high that it will relock your phone, making as useful as a brick (hence term bricking).

The FIRST update issued by Apple relocked the phone. If you accept the updates from Apple, your phone won't stay unlocked.

no no no!
i am sure that apple will do another update to get rid of the remaining unlocked iphones, so do not do any updates!

It gets locked onto a certain update, referred to as "bricked" or something.
