My guinea pig recently died, and I was very sad. Mornings just aren't the same anymore without him squeeking up a storm.

I want something else now, but not a guinea pig because of their high maintenance. I want something with life in it, not a bird, hamster, reptile etc. But I can't think of something that I can bond to that doesn't require a lot of maintenance. Can someone please give me some suggestions?

Well we have a dog, I would absolutely love to adopt, but my parents think ours would be jealous number one, and number two, my mom thinks they are really high maintenance (well ours is)

I also suggested a cat, but my sister is allergic.

Too hard to bond to a spider.

Maybe the pet I'm thinking of doesn't exsist :(

A rat or 2. We had them for years! They are really clean, if you start them young they will take to the water and enjoy a swim in the bathtub, they like people, are friendly and very, very smart. We always had females and at least 2 at a time. They were wonderful!

I don't have any rats now because they were not compatible with Asthma and I really struggled with it. I don't hesitate to go to a petstore and visit with them however!

Good luck in your search!

I was going to suggest a cat, but an allergy would rule that out. Cats are very low maintenance and pretty much care for themselves. You don't have to walk them, clean up their droppings, and they keep themselves clean. They are quiet. Some are friendly, and others are independent. They would be an ideal pet except for the allergy issue.

As far as exotic pets, I wouldn't recommend them. They are definitely high maintenance. And you already have a dog, and hint that it might be jealous, and dogs are higher maintenance than cats. Gee -- I can't think of anything!

Wait!! How about a boy friend? Just kidding!

If you'd like an animal that isn't super high maintenance but is smart enough to bond with you, you might want to look at a ferret. Everyone says they smell, but most of the ferrets available through petstores have already had their scent glands removed, so just a little musky smell that I think is adorable. They can be litter box trained just like a cat (mine is) and they don't cause damage in the house if you let them run loose. They love to run and play, but will snuggle up for short periods of time (that get longer as they get older and slow down a little bit). Food is easy - buy them ferret food. The only thing to watch for with ferrets is careless handling. Ferrets have hollow bones so they need to be handled gently. Their fur is soft, they're smart, reasonably low maintenance on the cage cleaning thing (scoop their litter box just like a cat)...what more could you ask for?? They don't cost $3 like the chinese fighting fish, but they give back every dime you spend on them in loving you.

the value relies upon on your canines's breed, age, the place you reside, and what kind of plan you get, yet a ballpark value could be everywhere from $20 to $80 5 in keeping with month. I propose doing learn and finding a plan that covers all injuries and ailments without complicated payout schedules. Trupanion will pay ninety% of the fairly expenditures with none limits. I would suggest finding an older dog. Try to find a dog that has had a previous owner, is house-trained, and isn't super energetic. You could probably find one at your local humane society.
