The last thing wealthy people want is for the average Joe to have on time on their hands, because then we would know how they 'really' make money...if we didn't have to work we'd have lots and lots of time.
You are correct in that the laws favour the rich, and if anyone thinks this is not the case, they still get their own way in any case because they have the best lawyers...do you really think The Simpson's is a joke??? Mr Burns is the exact stereotype of this.
The reason we can't vote in a change is because those at the top have all the money and will never release their stranglehold on us by letting this happen. They have been using this system for centuries and it's still the ancestors of those people from ancient Normandy running things now!
Is It just coincidence that George Bush shares ancestry with every British monarch from William the conqueror down, to many more...even Thomas Kean the chairman of the 9/11 commission is Bushs' cousin.
This is why it all stays as it is now...it stays from generation to generation...there is no way to break the monopoly....
Unless someone can suggest a miracle???

The laws favor the rich because they are made by the rich, and the Republican party has always been for the rich and against the poor, always. The working man is held down in America while the rich get richer and poor get poorer thats the Republican national moto. The GOP has wiped out the middle class in America.

The poor, rich and poor are such relative and subjective terms. Most of the poor people I know and meet, and I meet a lot of them, are down right fat, absolutely huge. Poor people are supposed to be skinny and starving. Not here in the USA. So, I don't think we really have any poor people, just some with more money and assets than others. Usually, people have more assets because they worked hard and smart to get them. It would be a crime to take the hard earned resources from someone and give them to another who didn't work hard and smart.

We the poor only elect them, the rich own them! If government taxed the rich, the rich would take their money and flee. This is the same reason the states ca tor to the wealthy.

Because the politicians who make the laws are for the most part rich themselves. Of course they are going to be self-serving.

This is America, you have just as much of a chance to make money.
Some of the rich were poor at one point and applied themselves, got an education and made some money.
Please don't blame them.
