Do you think your Dad will be more pissed about you getting on Myspace or possibly personal information like banking, credit cards or passwords being stolen and then him finding out? As a Dad of teenagers, I expect my kids to screwup sometimes, but I also expect them to have the sense to kknow when it is time to ask for help.

It may not even be a virus. You may be overheating, which will cause the processor to stop. The usual culprit is dust. If the fan cannot blow enough air through the laptop, the processor gets too warm and stops. You may have to take it to a shop, but you can buy a can of compressed air, sold in computer shops everywhere, and try blowing it out yourself.

get an antivirus program (they are usually really expensive)
and if you cannot afford that, ask your dad for your help. So he doesnt find your myspace do the following:
on mozilla firefox:
tools - clear private data - check everything off then click "clear private data now"
on internet explorer:
tools - internet options - click "delete files", "delete cookies" and "clear search history"
if a mac has a different web browser than those, try looking it up on the toolbar
