In a electric powered warm water heater there are 2 aspects,a suitable element and a bottom element.you'll favor to regulate both and also you should ought to suck the lime out of the bottom of the tank with a vacuum ( a keep vac will do the interest) you mustn't have any extra difficulty with the breaker again.

If you have not been draining the unit once a week since you bought it and especially if you have hard water, then calcium deposits have accumulated on the inner coils and your unit needs to be replaced. Try this....there should be a faucet on the unit that is accessible to you. Hook your hose up to it and hang the other end out of a window. Open the faucet up and allow the entire unit to drain out. Once empty, close up the faucet and go look outside. If you have excessive mineral deposits, the unit is going to have to be replaced because once there, it is impossible to remove.

A legitimate reason would be a low water level.
Secondary would be a short-circuit; both unlikely.
Most likely, a defective circuit breaker, check your warranty.

You may need a new heating element. These heaters usually have an upper and lower element. A plumber can change the element for you.

The thermostat is going bad .Just replace it. I would replace them both, Upper and lower thermostats. And you will be done with it.
