The older I get the more I tell the people I love, that I do love them.
A few months ago I was able to reconnect with a lifelong friend from childhood and into adulthood, who had relocated out of state and we had lost touch for about 15 years.
After getting in touch again I told him that I loved him and he me.
I was Best Man at his wedding and he was Best Man at mine.
two months ago he died suddenly from an insulin shock episode and I knew I was glad that I had told him that I loved him.
You never know when the people you love will depart forever and it's a good thing to let them know how much you care about them.

Oh yes....we never know when we will die..tomorrow is not promised. So I make sure all the people in my life family as well as friends, know not just from my saying I LOVE U..But my showing them I do, even in the smallest ways.

I do it all the time. It's weird because in my parents' house we never really said "I love you". It is still awkward for me to tell my parents I love them. However my friends have helped me get used to saying it over the years and now I tell my friends often that I love them. I really do, I have some really amazing friends.

My best friend and I say "I love you" to each other every time we see each other or talk on the phone. You're right, some friends are as close, if not closer than family.

Yes, I tell friends ( and family) that I love them - not as often as I should. You just never know . . .

Yes, I do, a long time ago, my best childhood friend found this, he said, "Why bring me flowers when I'm dead? I can't enjoy them...don't tell me you love me when I'm dead for I can't hear you anymore."
Ever since then, I haven't had a problem telling my closest friends I love them, right along with my family.
