I just basically want your opinions on pregnant teens. I mean me and most of my friends have never been pregnant but why are so many teens getting pregnant and are unable to tell who the father is? Don't they know how to use protection? Or know common sense?

It's mainly a parenting issue. (not all, mostly) Their parents let them do whatever they want, they go out with men their parents do even know where they are. Their parents don't instill values of saving yourself for someone special, or ensure self esteem in their children. Kids are over exposed to sex in the media too, and are hooked on being like celebrities. How many pregnant celebs or celebs adopting children have you seen lately? They are just imitating. They aren't mature enough to understand consequences.

When most teens get pregnant, it's usually not there fault. I don't think that since they're pregnant they are a bad person. Everybody is so critical on this topic. Sexual intercourse is someones own personal decision. It doesn't mean they don't make good choices. I mean, yeah. They don't make excellent choices, but it could be alot worse. And you can still get pregnant while using protection.

I am a teen mom. I know who my daughters father is. Just because some doesn't, doesn't mean that every teen parent doesn't know who the father is. BTW, I am 14 with a 4 month old daughter. I think it is people like the people your talking about that make people call us teen parents sluts and all those other horrible names that are not always true.

No offense to those "Im 16 and i'm doing ok with 3 kids" girls but i think its nasty and it just spins my world when i see a pregnant teen. The concept of abstinece never became an option for them and i just take them as an example of what i dont wanna end up as. I eman seriously. What's with the sudden rush to grow up? I'm 14 and i'm like peter pan.. i wanna stay this way for ever. Me and my boyfriend really like each other but i dont want to have sex with him ... that would be awkward. It just makes me sad that so many kids want to loose their virginity just so that they can feel all grown up.

I worry aboy this so much for my daughter. I know I have done my best to talk to her but it I worry that she will not think or not care and end up pregnant. I wish I knew she would avoid sex, but I know most teens think they are grown and can do whatever. As a mom of a teen, it breaks my heart to hear of so mant teenage moms.

Condoms aren't completely safe. they only offer safER sex, not totally safe sex. They can still "malfunction." But then there are a lot of girls with a devil-may-care attitude about their bodies and sexual life. They think they're invincible and "oh, I could never get pregnant, cuz this is me!!" But they aren't so much so, are they? Plus, some have it with so many that it's hard to keep track.

No, they don't know how to use protection. No-one teaches them how.

Abstinence is a good idea, but not without effective sex education too. Teenagers are teenagers, some of them are going to have sex and they need to know how to protect themselves from pregnancy and STD's.

It's parents job to teach them how to protect themselves, but because parents aren't always up to the job, it ends up being the school's job.

In my opinion, if you are mature enough to have sex you should be mature enough to use proper protection and these teens are clearly not mature enough to be having sex.

I know in my school they didn't teach about using condoms (I went to a private school), but my mom was open enough to talk to me about sex and what to do to protect myself and my partner. Even if she hadn't I still had access to books and things to educate myself. It wouldn't have been ideal, but it would have worked.

Many teens feel that things like pregnancy and STDs will not happen to them. They feel they are invincible and can do what they like without consequences.

Sometimes girls think that they're in love, but don't quite understand the meaning of love.
Other times, girls aren't careful enough and make mistakes.
If they're willing to be responsible and not use abortion as a birth control, then bless them and I'd wish them all the luck.

those people are the kinds of people that don't know how to make good choices. i hope you're smarter than that and know you're worth the wait if you know what i mean..i've made a promise to myself to keep myself pure until marriage..i think that's one of the best things teens could promise themselves today.
