OMG...I thought I knew how bad healthcare was in the USA but after seeing this movie I am just beyond words. I knew it wasn't good, but I was stunned to conclude that your healthcare lies in the hands of corporations and profit is their number one priority and lengths they go to, to not pay out.

I actually had to watch the movie twice. My kids watched and were speechless.

I could not BELIEVE that they allowed that man with cancer to die...because treatment was experimental...WTF?

And that little 5 year old girl? OMG that is a crime.

It's appalling. How can insurance companies DICTATE who gets care and who does not?

My young son now recovered from cancer could not believe what he saw in that movie. Thank God we live here mom. Yes indeed.

So people really believe all that nonsense of how TERRIBLE socialized healthcare is? That the Capital of Canada only has ONE chemo machine? Please!

France and Britain have the right idea.

Were you swayed by the movie?

Sorry Jeist, I don't buy that. If it's biased then you should be able to explain why to us all. We are willing to listen to your "proof" otherwise!

But it needn't run that way Marty. It doesn't in many countries! Our taxes pay for it and insurance companies are GOVERNED by government---not the other way around.

Well you are missing out on a lot of truth because of being "pigheaded" then Cobra!

Some might call that being "closed minded" too.

Did you see the CONFESSION by the doctor who caused that man's death? She actually claimed she was paid a six figure salary to turn down patients, that man included. He was the one I refered to that they wouldn't pay for the bone marrow to save his life. You would NEVER be disallowed here...certainly not because you didn't have money!!!

I am still in shock that anyone has to pay anything. We don't pay for food either in hospital!!! My dad spent 5 weeks with West Nile and didn't cost a cent. Everyone is treated equal. Doctors paid by government, hospitals built by government. Taxes from people and businesses pay for it ALL. We just pay for meds. Insurance is mostly for meds and dental and vision, equipment, braces, etc. and you can go into any doctors office/ER room any time you want and as often as you need...NO CHARGE! What is there to fear about that? They want you to be afraid so you won't change the system.

Twelve hours in the ER. They tell me I don't need the Cat scan...They give me morphine 1...then morphine 2...then morphine 3...of course the pain is simply so bad now...all I can do is mewl and groan...and still they...after having exhausted all the other tests...want to send me home with a prescription for pain killers...the doctors can't believe that I am walking around and not drowsy for I am on morphine 3 now but I am beyond agony now and it is growing steadily worse...so I put on my war face and start threatening law suit and a whole lot worse...so they begrudgingly send me to the Cat scan just to shut me up...and the results come back and as they start reading the film from the Cat scans...I see the colour bleed right off the doctors faces...like they have seen a ghost...then the panic...and I find myself strapped to a gurney and rushed into the OR where the appendix promptly bursts as they put me on the table...
of course the real horror starts after the 'succesful operation' when I am simply trying to convalesce...

No...I am not swayed by Moore's movie...I found myself simply nodding my head all throughout the movie. Many of my cousins are nurses here in New York...and there was nothing in his movie that was a shocker...or the realm of science fiction...nothing at all.
Criminal behaviour on the part of these medical companies and the pharmaceutical companies that control them?...Absa-fraggin'-lutely!!!

I now work in an American Hospital... what you saw is all true... and worse. I see how people go to the ER for STD checks, for ingrown toe nails etc etc cause they let the condition get HORRIBLE due to lack of health care. I see homeless & drunks looking for a place to sleep at night that work the system so they can get a bed and a meal.

I listen to my co-workers talk about how bad it will/would be if we had socialized medical benefits like other countries do.. I dont know why they are so afraid of it.

I have had socialized health care by being the spouse of a miltary member. It cost me all of $16.00 when I had my daughter 18 yrs ago.. all I paid for was my food! We have had issues, problems with military healthcare yes... but real world social medicine would be so much better.

My best friends 5 yr old nephew is in Belgium, little guy just had a liver transplant, he has been in and out of the hospital will all kinds of problems.. and his parents havent had to pay a dime! AN ORGAN TRANSPLANT.. at NO COST! unheard of in the states! Her father had back and ear surgeries in Amsterdamn.. didnt cost him a penny.. and he is doing well.

I had to jump through hoops to get the INSURANCE company in America to cover my 86 yrold Grandmothers eye surgery! ???

I cant wait for socialized health care!

I just watched the movie this weekend, and was about to post a question like yours. My question is, how do we, the American people, wrest control of our country from the greedy self interests like big oil, the AMA, the corrupt gov't., etc? It's hard to believe this country was founded through revolution. I agree with Michael Moore that we are controlled by fear, and have a hard time even imagining a revolution happening now. The question is, how much worse is it going to get before we do something?

i haven't seem the movie yet, but it's on my list of things to watch. i work in the healthcare field. (not the corp. side). i live in the US and i definitely think socialized healtcare is a better way to go. i've seen all sides of it. i've had family with cancer and major medical concerns, i work in the field and see it every day, and i have no insurance despite my job at a hospital.

Most all aspects of healthcare and doctors are in it for the money...................Hospitals set around and figure out ways to be more productive (bill more claims to medicare & Insurance) so do the physicians. It all about the bottom line and the stockholders.............what is new about that---absolutely nothing......................

I hope Canada is not far behind, because we are starting to not pay for the fine things and then it will be the major things. For instance my cousin went to get a pregnancy test..the urine test is now $5.00.!

I haven't seen it, but I can tell you from experience, that the prices of health care alone in th US are rediculous, and they're only getting worse. God help the kids, thats all I can say.

Yeah, I loved it but it was so emotional, I mean, I had no idea that stuff was all going on. I wish the U.S. was like France, now their healthcare is more like it!!!

i haven't seen the movie because i think Michael Moore is an opportunistic lying pig.....and would not spend a nickel to see anything involved with him....... so even if it is accurate the mere fact he is involved in it brings issue to its credibility.
