How many stamps do I need to mail a medium sized paperback book?

It won't be very much. Box it up and take it to the post office to be weighed. Tell them it's a book with nothing else, and you'll get the Media Mail rate, which is the cheapest. It does take longer to get there though. If you use Priority Mail, it will get there in 2-3 days and cost around $4.00.
