I know many of the local banks are closed for Veteran's Day on 11/12/2007, but I can not locate any information about the ost office. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Veterans day is a federal holiday and as the Post office is a federal institution it will be closed for the observances.

I know this is a bit hard to swallow because "the mail MUST go thru" :)

Post Offices, and most government offices, will be closed on Monday to mark Veterans' Day. I wonder how many federal employees will do anything on their day off to honor our fallen veterans?? -RKO- 11/11/07

Depends on where you live. I just mailed all my packages at my local Canada Post office today. They are accepted at the Shoppers Drug Mart and Macs postal outlets and any places that have a Canada Post outlet. They were also open yesterday...as I mail packages out almost everyday!

They are scanned into the CP system, as I sent express and expediated packages from Calgary. But they won't get picked up until tomorrow morning...on the 13th...but at least it is dated stamped and in the CP computer systerm and ready to go out tomorrow morning.

But Canada Post employees....have today off and don't deliver or pick up mail to my understanding.

Most places like a 7-11 store, Macs, Shoppers Drug Mart...that have Canada Post vendors....are open to take what you have to mail and buy stamps, send money orders. This is in Calgary AB that is.

Post Offices may be closed, but I just got a package delivered by Canada Post (Monday, 12 Nov). When queried, he said he is getting paid overtime. So perhaps, anything that is on a guaranteed delivery, is still going out?

...and in Canada, it is Remembrance Day, not Veteran's Day. :)

In England Wales and northerly eire, Easter Monday is a public trip by utilising Royal Proclamation. it is not any longer a financial enterprise trip in Scotland as they get 2d January in lieu(although, unusual because it would desire to look, the banks merely isn't open). The post workplace merely isn't turning in any post the following day.
