Caminiti actually died of a drug overdose combining cocaine and opiates, probably OxyContin or a similar painkiller (not roids). Steroids may have contributed to his coronary artery disease (in combination with lots of factors - coke and other drugs, alcohol, fatty foods) which might have eventually killed him, but they didnt cause his death (and would not have without the other, more acutely dangerous drugs in his system). The total number of major leaguers to have died directly from the effects of steroids appears to be: ZERO.

Caminiti was a walking chemistry lab when he keeled over. Past steroid usage probably didn't help, but he was using lots of things by then.

Ken Caminiti did not die from roids. He did from a crack cocain over dose

Ken Caminnati apparently died of a heart attack but they said he was depressed and did drugs. Apparently he had substance abuse but who knows..
