this just hit me...
my friend nd her ex boyfriend have been broken up for almost a year (january). nd i've been talking to him since I think March or something...and I just realized. Am I not supposed to talk to a good friends ex? I'm not flirting or anything but he's a nice person nd he gives me a lot of advice nd stuff. I mean we don't like each other romantically...
if it helps she broke up with him because he was cheating (i dont kno why bc shes fine with dating two other people at the same time..) anyway so .... yea is it okay or should i just stop talking to him?

If he's your friend, I don't think you should stop talking. But be careful not to fall for him because it would be bad for your friend, and yourself if he cheated on her! Just keep your distance, and maybe let your girl friend know that you talk to him.

They broke up a a while ago. I understand what she is feeling, and I'm sure that you can too. How would you react if the tables were turned? You're not doing anything wrong. You can be friends with whoever you want to be friends with. If it comes to the point where it is really causing problems between you and your best friend, then you have to decide which is more important to you. You shouldn't be put in that position, but sometimes it comes down to that.

Well if its just stictly friendship there isnt nothing wrong with that but to become intimate is another thing. No matter how long they been broke up and even though she dumped him unless she was to tell you she dont care i feel that messing around with him would be totally disrespectful. If you are good friends then i wouldnt worry about nothing but to be more would be crossing a line.

i really don't think there's a problem with you talking to him, she broke up with him, for the same thing she does (cheating) you should tell your friend that you are only good friends with him, and clarify that there's nothing romantically going on between you two. Hopefully your good friend understands that your not doing anything bad.
good luck!

i don't see why you shouldn't b able to talk to him. If he is a friend of yours and he is helping you through things then there should be no reason at all for her to object you two talking....they have been broken up fo ra year and she is dating other men.....if she is still worried about him, then he clearly isn't over him...

If there is nothing romantic going on, I don't think it's a problem. I could understand why your friend might though.

Just because they don't get on ... that has nothing to do with you ... keep talking to him for as long as you want ... and who knows ... it may even develop into something more :)
