everytime i stand under a street light, it will start blinking , the longer i stand under it the more it blinks until it becomes like a lightening show, soon as i walk away from it, it stops, then ill walk to the next one and it starts blinking, until ive walked under all the lights in the street...its not a coincidence, because i have been able to demostrate it to every single person i know, and happens every single time, all over the place, where ever i go.. I hadnt done it for a while, and last night i went for a walk down my street and it still happened, on every light i walked under.. Ive noticed it happens more intense when im charged up, like excited or angry, and only mild when im relaxed.. My sister kicked me out of her house one night cause i was angry and all the lights inside started flashing on and off, where ever i stood.. can anyone give any explanation as to why the lights react to some people, and how, whats the connection...

if you look it up, youll notice it happens to alot of other people, i came across it by accident on the web, and couldnt believe it is an actual phenomenon, and it had a name to it... It happens more when your energy is high.. i would love to record it, as i think its quite bizzar but entertaining at the same time.. i have read that some scienctists are working on this phenomenon, such as dr. wiseman, i sent him my story, and i can make it happen on command, as long im not to relaxed.. I used to think it was a spiritual thing, but i dont think it is.. If i walk straight past under the street light without stopping it doesnt happen, but when i stop and stand under it, then it happens
thanks denie, im glad we met to, glad you liked the pictures

my goodness now i can see how closed minded you skeptics really are, my imagination, no such thing as a slider, its conformation bias, my sister turned the lights on and off, she was in bed, when this happened....well at least i can prove this does happen, as it happens on command, at any street light, new or old, people cannt sum up ghosts on command, but at least i can do this, and have demonstrated it to well over 100 people already, and will keep on demonstrating it to more people.. If we out driving, ill pull up just infront of the light, i tell them to watch, and the street light will be normal, then i tell them to keep watching, and ill get out of the car and stand under it, and it will start blinking within seconds, and not just little blinks, but big ones...

It is my opinion that we all have an electrical field that is different with each individual. The higher ones field the more likely it is that it will interfere with electrical equipment. I notice that sometimes I get the same reaction you get. It is a rare individual that has the electrical power to do this. Animals have it also. My gf's dog and I were walking at night and several lights flickered and some went out. It happened more with the dog and I than when I walked alone. There are many other websites you can check out when you punch in the SLlder phenomenon. I don't know what use it is in a practical sense but I think if the power can be harnessed it could be useful in studying psycho-kinetics.

The lights that they use for street lamps are filled with gas. As they get old the gas will cool and settle, and the light will go out. Then the gas will reignite and it will come back on for awhile until the gas settles again.
My guess is that the town you live in needs to change some of the light bulbs.
Did you notice that it doesnt happen with normal household lamps?
The reason it seems to happen all the time, and be more than coincidence to you is it probably does. What you dont realize is that it happens to everyone who is walking by the lamps, and has nothing to do with actually walking by or being near the lamps. This is just a coincidence.
The fact that you are looking for this phenomena to happen, and that you want to believe you are part of something magical creates what is known as confimation bias. You remember the times it happens and dont pay attention when it doesnt happen.

There is no such thing as a slider. This is just a concept used to sell books by convincing people they are part of something special, when in fact they are just observing common everyday things.

In conclusion, its all in your imagination.

Aha! Finally, something that can be tested.

Establish that it's you and only you that this happens to. Test a handful of different kinds of street lamps. Then see if the same thing occurs if someone else does the same thing you do.

Once you've established that it's you and only you having this effect on lights and it's not happening to the lights when you aren't near them, then you have something to measure. If you are giving off an energy field strong enough to have a visible impact on electrical devices then this field will be measurable. If it's legitimate they you'll have a number of interested parties. A university is probably the best place to find someone to measure this sort of phenomenon.

I suspect there's a bit of confirmation bias happening here also.

I had this happen to me at one time but it was after i was electrocuted by 240 volts . More then street lights would go off though . I couldn't go into a hospital room with heart monitors or anything like that without them going nuts. Same with automatic opening doors . If i stood at a certain point they would open and close for as long as i stood there and it wasn't close about 30 foot away .

The neatest thing was the parking meters would ring up time if i touched them but that only lasted about a year .

Ive lost most of my charge now and i don't see it happened anymore but i still cant wear a digital watch for over a day without the battery's going dead .

We all have an aurora around us and street lights have a light sensor .I think the light sensor pics up our aurora that's what makes the lights go out . You may have a bright aurora or a certain color when you get into your moods . Mine was charged by 240 volt

Just good to see some one ells that happens to besides me . I cant prove mine anymore but you have a believer that yours is real.

In my neck of the woods, many streetlights will blink every now and then. Stand under any one for long enough and you'll likely see it flicker, and then you can attribute it to your presence if you want, but really it's not.

Your sister probably started turning the lights on and off as you walked off, just to mess with you since she knows you would interpret it as supernatural. Don't expect her to admit this to you, though.

Welp, you're not the only one, and other people seem to notice it when they personally are experiencing strong emotions or otherwise feeling strong emotional vibes. Check the source for other stories similar to yours.

There is, of course, a relatively easy explanation for this, but, hey, I know where I'm commenting. I doubt you'll go for it.

333..this is really "far out". !!! If it wasn't YOU saying this..I think I wouldn't be able to believe it. I really doubt that the skeptics will.Maybe you've been into so many spiritual things that it causes this. I'm anxious to see the other answers on here.I sent my sister your copy of Gregorian Chant and your other pictures. You are a very unique person. I'm glad we "met". Thanks for sharing.
Kelly...I'm SO GLAD other people confirmed what's happening with you is real. Hope you find the answer soon. If this ever happens to me in the future...at least I'll know I'm not the only one. (1 is the lonliest #) (esp. in the paranormal section !) lol

Hi Kelly,

Hillary Evans, an author and paranormal investigator with The Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena (ASSAP), is also studying the phenomenon. (You can download the original SLI Effect book in PDF format by Hilary Evans completely free from their website.) She has established the Street Lamp Interference Data Exchange as a place where SLIders can report their experiences and share those of other SLIders.

Do you recommend 'dispersion' (and not refraction)? Assuming that's what you recommend, the 'ingredient' which reasons dispersion is the version of the fee of light in a medium with wavelength. For mild in glass, the fee reduces maximum for shorter wavelengths. the ends up in greater refraction for colorings in direction of the violet end of the spectrum while in comparison with colorings in direction of the purple end of the spectrum. subsequently white mild is chop up up (dispersed) into its factor colorings by potential of a prism.

I have the same thing, mostly when I'm mad or upset about something. I can do it to florescent light in stores and the mall some times. I kill watches too. I'd like to now more about the investigation and web pages you found.
