its a messenger bag
i think its meant to be a purse but i think it can go either way
its soooooooo cute too!!!

I think it could be both. It is really cute.
I bought one and used it for a backpack and purse at the same time, but I hardly had room for my books once I got all my purse stuff in it. So I suggest using it as a purse and buy a different bigger one for a backpack.

its really neither a backpack or a purse, i used one from hollister a little different than that to carry my books during school and it ripped a little after a month

It is a real backpack. One-strapped backpacks are becoming really popular, and being Hollister just makes it better!

its a messenger bag not really a backpack, since it more or less hangs on your side. And more unisex than a purse.

It's a messenger bag - big enough to hold a few books, along with purse items.
It is ugly, though.

I think it's both ,cuz you can put your books in it for school, or you can put makeup in it or some thing.
