My woodruff key got mangled and dished out the end of the crank shaft where it seats. It also wore down the inside of the flywheel channel. Is there a way to fix them? Can I have someone build up the dished out areas with some weld?

The shark obviously doesn't own a machine shop. I don't know any machinists who would risk their tools trying to recut a welded crank or flywheel. Best bet is replace the crank and flywheel, although there may be a shop out there somewhere who can conceive a fix for it.

Cutting a new keyway wouldbe the best butit would have to be very accurate because the relationship between flywheel and crank crate your timing I have in thepast used jb weld and had good success just keep everything tightsoit doesnt wear good luck

If you have a machine shop available the crank could probably be saved. The flywheel is a possible save but the shop would have to see it. The crank would have to be removed from the engine. Get an estimate.

believe it or not JB weld can fix it or have a welder build the area up then recut the grove for keyway, same on flywheel. easy and cheap job to fix, or get another engine and transplant all your parts.

HAVE A MACHINE SHOP CUT A NEW GROOVE 120 DEGREES AWAY. DON'T GO 180, IT MAY CRACK.
