It is accurately called 'victory', but no-one likes that word nowadays. 'Job done' comes close. And Huzza to them all.
I hope to send 'kudos' to all our men out there soon. I presume kudos is some sort of Greek fish, related to aquatic wombats.

Dude. Going through those solutions from the Dems, you should imagine they pay absolutely NO interest to what "their" leaders say just about weekly, if no longer each and each day. one among their own (his call escapes me) absolutely said that if Patreus's list got here again good in any form or trend, it must be undesirable information for them. they'd the Dem senate really calling Patreus a liar, noticeably Clinton, to quote her, "this list is the prepared suspension of disbelief". If the Iraqi progression receives a lot extra positive, even if in a unmarried 3 hundred and sixty 5 days or ten years, the Dems recognize for a shown reality that the Reps receives each and each and every of the credit, and they could't stand that, now that they have opened their large mouths on the opposite.

Violence in Iraq is down just like the stock market was up a couple months ago. Both are volatile and short-term trends are meaningless.
Invading Iraq was a stupid idea doomed to failure, and nothing has changed. You are aware that we are now feeding massive intelligence to Turkey in hopes of keeping them from invading northern Iraq, aren’t you?
When this current deception, distortion, and lie about an effective Surge and improving Iraq fades away as yet another example of the inherent dishonesty and hypocrisy of the Bush Administration, will you have the balls to step to the plate and admit you were wrong?
FOX is all giddy reporting how Iraqis are “returning” home (because things are so much better). As usual, however, FOX only cares about selling the idea that things are working in Iraq. There has not been a single mention by Hannity, BO, etc., that the reason so many Iraqis are “returning” is because Syria is closing its border with Iraq and is kicking-out Iraqi refuges, effectively tossing them back into Iraq against their will. Good job there FOX on the “Fair and Balanced” crap - as usual.

edit --
US casualties in Iraq for 2006 were 822. So far in 2007, the count is 832. You do the math.

“Islamo Fascist” is a made-up nonsense word that places the “enemy” in the same imaginary category as space aliens and Bigfoot. It does not matter that a nitwit like Savage (or whoever coined the term) uses it; but when the President does, it signals either that he is totally clueless or intentionally defining a non-existent enemy.
In any case, if you would bother to research the defining characteristics of ‘fascism’, you would see that it more accurately describes America’s political and religious conservatives than it does their ideological cousins, radical Islamic terrorists. But then, the far right is more of a threat to America than are a bunch of pissed-off fringe Muslims.
Bin-Laden never laid a finger on the US Constitution or took away any American’s rights or freedoms. The Bush Administration is the anti-American organization responsible for those crimes.

I was watching CNN today and I caught a story about the major decrease in sectarian violence in Baghdad. (Attacks are down 77%!) It shows something is getting done, at least in Baghdad, and our troops ought to be commended for their successes and bravery in Iraq.

Yes they do. People need to stop listening to the stinking media and actually talk to soldiers who are in Iraq and are seeing the good that is happening.

They deserve Kudos for serving their country, and being brave enough to not ditch out after being sent in to be human shields for people who want to kill each other.

okay, i don't even know where to start....
How about this:
-the troops are going about securing their homeland by destroying that of another. So quite frankly, reaction is almost inevitable.
-respect/kudos, on an individual level... Goes to who? the individual brave enough to KILL a KILLER for killing? What exactly do they stand for?? What are they defending? And what is the bravest way to defend that belief??
-how many opf them know what they are killing/destroying for?! How many of them have thought this through, thoroughly?!?!?!
Okay, so you're asking whether or not they deserve kudos from everyone for increasing stability?? No, because I know better than to think that this will last.
Do they deserve respect for laying it on the line?? No, because they are not doing it the right way, or for the right reasons.
So do they deserve kudos???? No
NOW,
If they knew how I felt, they'd probably want to kill me too, thereby proving my point.

Damn straight they do!
This country would be nothing without the US troops and Iraq is going to be like the US was 200 years ago. It just takes time.

No. Not when it comes to the cost(s) of destroying our own country. Billions spent in Iraq and for what? To make us more secure? To make the world more secure? Look at our economy. The currency and major banks are going down the tubes, while billions could be spent on health, education and social programs which make us a stronger nation. The longer our troops are in Iraq, the weaker we become as a nation. All the signs are there. It's happening now.

Yes, take a homeless vet home for the evening. They sure do deserve kudos, just for following orders and being there. Can they come home now?
