I suppose a person with Bi-Polar illness would fit this--depending upon which cycle they are in. In the manic phase, anything and all things are a GO!! There are no internal monitors in operation. Then as the cycle swings to the depressive phase, there is no spontaneous behavior--hardly any active behavior at all. At the "quarter stages" (going from the manic to the depressive and vice versa, coming out of the depressive) bhavior is more nornalized. But to be both and the same time????? Can't think of an example.

Anal expulsive is a new term for me. I looked it up and what I get is that during the anal period its the conflict a child can become anal retentive meaning holding back in reaction to anxiety or anal expulsive wasteful. I would think you could have different reactions to different anxiety but I think in general i think you probally are geared one way. I have known quite a few anal retentive type people and it seems they truelly react one way only.
