No, that isn't too much unless you are low income. I spend about 150 on gas and 150 on food for two and if you add in pet food, hardware stores and minor household and clothing items I might spend that much on average without including insurance and phone but phone is only 20.50 so not big enough to worry about. My bills are about 2,500 a month so non bill spending is only about 1/6th of the total budget. I my biggest budget item is retirement savings at about 2K a month.
As long as you are meeting all your long and short term goals and paying the bills spend all you like.

I spend about 120/ mo on gas and I drive a honda civic, and 150 on all food including bar food which is my entertainment. I'm not a regular movie-goer, so I spend about 7 at most on movies. If you add in my phone/ internet and car insurance, that's 150 more. Isn't phone a bill though? I would include that in housing. I think you should be able to get away with 50/mo just pure entertainment.

My bills are about 1700 a month, I also save 1500 a month, plus about 300 into my 401k, and 180 to insurance. I make about 4000 a month take home. Then I split whatever is left over with my wife. So I guess I spend about 100$ a month, cause usually I have money that carries over too.
Sounds like you have a merry time. If you will save your money though and get rid of all your debt you will find that it changes your perspective on money. I could now care less about fashion or new cars or impressing anyone.

I would guess that I spend approximately $200 in a typical month, not including rent, taxes, and insurance, because I charge almost everything else on a credit card (and pay the full balance each month, which is usually approximately $200, but much higher if there are car repairs, hotel rooms, or airline tickets.)

I'm confused. Isn't food and gas a bill?
What specifically are you asking? Are you saying you spend $600 at restaurants, bars, movies, etc?
That would all depend on how much you earn. $600 seems like an awful lot to throw away on entertainment.
