I would vote for an old yellow dog before I ever consider voting Republican. I use to be more open minded but, GWB changed that.

Well Im a democrat and I think left is right. The gop is no longer the party of Lincoln hell it is not even the party of Ike anymore. It went over the cliff with Ronald Reagan and the religious wrong. Im a democrat because I feel it is the best chance for all american not just a wasp
That is not to say there are not good moderate republicans. Or I feel they are a bad party. We have the right to vote how we feel. But the democratic party needs to stop apologizing for being "liberal" and stand up for itself. We are ther Party of Roosavelt and Truman. Be proud.. We passed cival rights, created social security, FDIC, tne Peace Corps etc. Hope that was not to pompous for you. Thanks for this opportunity

Throughout my life (I'm nearly retirement age), the Republican Party has consistantly favored Big Business interests over Labor, Consumer, and Small Business interests, the Investor Class over the Working Class. Since I live by my labor, by my work rather than by a Big Business profits or investment income, I support the Democratic Party, the party which is more supportive of MY interests.

(And no, just being a retiree living off your IRA or buying a few hunderd shares of Target doesn't make you a member of the Investor Class. You spent most of your life supporting yourself by your labor and you are Working Class, even if you do have $800K worth of mutual funds, municiple bonds, T-bills, or whatever.)

Independent, I think the republicans are both corrupt, and wrong in policy, and I think the democrats are both corrupt, and idiotic.
I do, in all actuality lean to the left a lot more though, I support humanism, rather than lip service on "morality" and self-created unimportant issues, and hypocrisy (not to say the left isn't heading this way as well, though).

Democrat
Why? Because small government republicans are an antiquity of an era long gone.
Anymore, the only thing reducing government means to most republicans is, reducing spending on Americans, while increasing it on every other nation, and banning anything they disagree with, which creates more laws, more law enforcment expenses, and more taxes to pay for it.
But this does not prevent me from voting for that rare Republican that exhibits the true republican ideals that once made their party the Grand Old Party, which is now, nothing more than a club of corporatists and right-wingers looking to enforce their faith upon the rest of us.

Also, it does not mean I blindly support every stance the dem party takes on every issue, nor blindly oppose every Republican stance. Blind support, and unquestioning obediance is what leads to fascism.

I'm a Republican! Even though I get some oppression from the Republicans because I'm Gay, I love my country and want the best for it. The Democrats are no good, low down dirty traitors and I wouldn't ever trust them with our government.

I'm closest to a Democrat, though I just prefer liberal/green.

I like to use my head and think, and not just about some pay check. I owe some loyalty to this little rock going around the sun. It's a pretty little rock. And I want to keep it that way.

i say we shouldn't be for one party of government
but the government should be for us
after all isnt the government for the people by the people
one of Jeffersons bigest fears was having political parties
because all they would do is make it seem like they wanted the things you want but when they get the power they will try and tear the other party down instead of doing what they said they would do

I am a Republican despite the fact that those right-winged whackos (oops...I mean Christians) have taken everything that was once great about this country and raped it.

I am neither -- I am an Independent.

I have no party affiliation because party politics are destroying this country; those who ARE members of a party are, in my not-so-humble opinion, lemmings that will 'follow their pseudo-leaders' right over a friggin' cliff and into oblivion!
