While political difference can not break a romance. The way in which those differences are addressed may be a problem. If for example one partner wants to argue the issues at hand and the other wants to engage in petty partisan back biting then there is some cause for concern.

However is cases like the one I am thinking of the love between the two partners is more then enough to over come anything

Doesn't have to. If one or the other is overly aggressive I could see it happening.Nice to ask this question & get views.

I had a friend from Pa. whose husband thought we couldn't be friends because he was Catholic & I from Tx. was a Southern Baptist. I laughed & said " If we don't discuss religion or politics, I think we will do just fine". (They where joining us for a wk. at our timeshare) I whispered to my hubby, "This may be a long wk. & we both laughed so hard. It was wonderful. He spent a wk. looking for lost golf balls & his wife & I laughed our silly heads off. How funny he was.~~~~

In romance darling, take your time, & seems you are wise, considering your question. We have been wed 54 yrs. and remain independent in our thinking. We just both tend to support the same party & the man reguardless of the rateings.

I suppose it is like anything else. If you are not flexible it will create a problem.

If you really love each other that shouldn't make any difference.

* I don't believe it should* Both are entitled to their own opinions and I wouldn't personally hold that against someone I loved* I would respect his choices even if I didn't agree with him!
