I have currently been taking the birth control pills for over 2 years now and in the past 2 months I have been getting my period every 2 weeks. What would be causing this? Should I be concerned?

This could be an indicator that the amount of hormones in your medication may be too low for your body to deal with but the only way to know for sure is to see your doctor for further evaluation of the situation to see what they think is going on.

Have you been forgetting pills lately? Being late with a dose can cause breakthrough bleeding that can be almost as heavy as a period.

If you're sure you've been taking your pills on schedule, you should probably talk to your gyno. You might do better on a pill with a different formulation of hormones.

It's not unusual for women's hormones to change over the years, even if you are still young. Sometimes the pill needs adjusting.

Good luck!

Sounds like you're at the point where you need a stronger pill. This can happen after one has been on the pill for a while. Tell your gyno what's going on he/she should be able to help by switching your pill.
