If they are opposed to the war, how can they support the people who are volunteering to fight the war?

Liberals smiberals. Makes no difference, the average soldier does not care what the politicians think, they are more concerned with public support. The public as a whole are often against conflict but admire and support those who have to fight. This is a good wagon for the politicos to jump on, it is as simple as that. Commonly known as sitting on the fence or trying to please some of the people most of the time.

Before 9/11 the same troops that the Liberals want to bring home were stationed here in the US. That didn't prevent terrorists from bringing down the WTC and killing 3,000 Americans. Since the troops were sent overseas to fight the terrorists on their homeground, there have been no more attacks similar to 9/11.

The liberal mindset is that if we don't make the terrorists angry at us they won't attack us. They seem to ignore the fact that in the past, under Bill Clinton, we did ignore repeated attacks which eventually emboldened al-qaeda to plan and carry out 9/11.

I get the impression that unless these terrorist attacks affect these liberals personally (like a friend or relative killed as in the collapse of the WTC) they don't really care whether we defeat the enemy or not. Certainly bringing the troops home before the job is done over there (Circling the wagons mentality) is inviting the war to be fought here on home soil.

Attacking a soldier of any rank in blatant smear campaigns isn't helping the troops in any respect. Reporting inaccuracies or outright bending of certainty is information. This advert seems to be the former. I in no way have supported the conflict because it relatively is been controlled by employing Bush & cronies. I had no difficulty with basically blowing the crap out of Saddam and leaving at that yet an entire scale invasion replaced into stupid from the outset. Now, we and our defense force personel are caught in a very undesirable challenge that replaced into completely aviodable. particular, Bush is an fool and continuously would be.

How can veterans against the war still claim to support the troops but not the war? Easy to understand if you're educated and interested in the welfare of your fellow man, and not simply your own self interest...

Hard to grasp if you're more interested in materialist ideals...

75% of Viet Nam vets opposed the war conflict in Viet Nam....

I wonder what a poll would reveal about the vets from the iraqi occupation....

Oh, here, I just answered my own question:

"U.S. Troops in Iraq: 72% Say End War in 2006

* Le Moyne College/Zogby Poll shows just one in five troops want to heed Bush call to stay “as long as they are needed”
* While 58% say mission is clear, 42% say U.S. role is hazy
* Plurality believes Iraqi insurgents are mostly homegrown
* Almost 90% think war is retaliation for Saddam’s role in 9/11, most don’t blame Iraqi public for insurgent attacks
* Majority of troops oppose use of harsh prisoner interrogation
* Plurality of troops pleased with their armor and equipment

An overwhelming majority of 72% of American troops serving in Iraq think the U.S. should exit the country within the next year, and more than one in four say the troops should leave immediately, a new Le Moyne College/Zogby International survey shows."

SEEING that LIBERALS want the same thing the TROOPS want, I conclude that LIBERALS SUPPORT THE TROOPS more than anyone.....

Simple Troops do not choose the war they are sent to, neither can they refuse to serve wars they don't agree with. Hence the true greatness of a soldier.

Politicians such as the President and the Congress decide which wars they want to send the troops to.

As such we support such people as the troops with all that we can not some petty politicians war that he commerced on false pretenses.

Supporting the troops and supporting a war are not always the same thing.

Suppose a future President decided to invade a random country for no good reason (some would say thats happening now). Are we then obligated to support a morally questionable war because we "support the troops"? Are we supposed to throw our individual morality into the wind in the name of marching lockstep with our leaders no matter what?

We'd like them to come home in one piece, with no more holes through their body than what's meant to be.
Also, we support giving veterans the care they deserve after they get back (more than 25 percent of the homeless population in the United States are military veterans, although they represent 11 percent of the civilian adult population, with the added travesties of the VA Hospital scandals).
Supporting the troops has nothing to do with actually sending them anywhere, well..actually, there is somewhere we could use them, the US border, or perhaps New Orleans a couple years back...
I have a question to you as well - How can conservatives claim to support the troops, when they send them into a woodchipper?

Without problem.
Better than Che Dickney the Great Revolutioneer
can say he's for war but all money for troops is his.

PS:
Did the first identical question today not
result in a convenient butt-kissing, either?

Easy.

I can hate soccer, but if I had a child that was on the school soccer team, I'd support them.

I don't support this war, I think it was unnecessary to go into Iraq; but, I do support the people fighting on our side in this war.

I don't see how anyone is not allowed to support the troops and not the war simultaneously. If we started a war that you didn't like, I'm pretty sure you'd still support the common soldier.

Ummmm. Uhhhhhhhh. Gee, they can't! The Troops don't feel any support from Liberals, so if Liberals are supporting any Troops, it must be GI Joe (the doll), and GI Jane (a movie).
Read what soldier's say and feel on this forum, and everthing I said is what they are saying. Hmmmm, kind of makes ya wonder why the majority of the military vote Conservative?

God Bless America, and the Troops!
