I often find that placing very warm compresses (or even a wet, very warm towel) over you lower abdomen often helps in soothing the pain associated with menstrual cramps..
Advil or ibuprofen will often work to alleviate your cramps as well :)
To lighten your mood, may I suggest doing something that makes you happy? Perhaps eating icecream? talking to a friend? watching a funny movie?
I hope this helps!

Sounds like you're starting up your period m'dear.
If Midol doesn't help with the cramps (it never phased me) take Acetamenophen 500mg tabs, same thing as Tylenol. 1 or 2 at a time about every 5-6 hours.

Whenever I get my period I try to stay away from chocolate. You can eat saltine crackers or crackers with a little salt on the top and some ginger ale or some sprite, this will settle your tummy and make you feel better. Try a heating pad, I hear that works but for me if makes it sooo much worse. I like to use a cold wash cloth or a bag of ice wrapped in a towel. I hope this helps you and I hope you feel better.

Take ibuprofen to relieve the cramps (Midol and Pamprin works good but any ibuprofen pill will work).
Stay away from salty foods because women tend to hold water around this time and it's no fun feeling bloated and cranky.

For the crabbiness I found that taking B6 in either a bottle by itself or as part of B Complex was very helpful in the week or so before my period.
As for the cramping I found that eating things high in iron during that week helps a lot to ease cramping. Things high in iron are things like spinach, raisins, and peanut butter (if not allergic to peanuts of course).
If the cramping is so bad that you can't function then that needs to be evaluated by your doctor to see what they think is going on.

Eat a banana and use a hot water bottle on your abdomen for a few minutes, and then on your lower back. Midol may help as well, but try the banana and hot water bottle first.

Take a bath. The warm water will relax the muscles.

CHOCOLATE! and maybe a water bottle:)
And i think you may have your period soon, but it could be stress but you know the likely symptoms.
Sit down, relax and watch a bit of tv, maybe a few favourite films.. maybe also have a nice long relaxing bath.
Don't worry to much just try to relax and i think you'll feel better in no time.
