Answers to posted Vet Q's and I find it appalling that some people seem to think "We" are the bad guys....."We", fought ,bled and died for your right to do and say as you please, My brothers died at my side without a moments pause to protect the very rights that make all of us "Free". I speak to the people who believe that "We" are monsters and murderers and I ask you one simple question.......Without "Us" to protect your peaceful and orderly existance.....What would you do?

Respectfully,
An ex 82nd Airborne Trooper

I have the deepest respect for veterans; John, I cannot express satisfactorily how humbled I am by the sacrifices made by veterans. Veterans such as yourself are men of honour, men who have selflessly put everything on the line so that the rest of us can live in peace and prosperity.

I always get choked up seeing military services, parades, etc. Never been in the service myself, but I am moved beyond the capabilities of my own emotions by the ones who have.

As the Bible says:
"Greater love hath no man, than to give his life for his friend"

You are heroes, mate.

For all of my friends here who are veterans:

(((((((John O)))))))

(((((((Serafim)))))))

(((((((Kallan)))))))

(((((((Semper Fi)))))))

(((((((Peace and Harmony)))))))

You have my respect ((((John))))....Thank you!!

My dad,who died on Dec 31st of 2006,served in WW2...He was accidently shot during machine gun practice...8 out of 17 men were killed and my dad caught a shell that penetrated and exited above his knee...He suffered his whole life,in constant pain, but never complained and was very active...

I believe that God in his mercy spared my dad,as he was to soon ship out to participate in the landing on the beaches of Normandy...God had another plan for him as there is a great possiblility that he would not have survived..(He was very dissapointed that he was not able to be with his buddies in defending our country)..He and a friend of his, had enlisted together...My dad was a much braver and greater man than I...

I had never thought to thank him for his part in protecting our freedom, untill about 3 years before he passed...we were both in tears....

I haven't seen the posts, but I'm shocked that any American would say such things. It is disgusting, and they are morons. I'm very aware of the sacrifices made by our military, past and present. They are men and women of honor, courage and bravery.....and all of us owe them a debt we can never repay. The very least we can do is show them some respect, and say thank you whenever there is an opportunity........and I do thank you John, and all those who have served our country to defend our freedom and safety. God bless all of you. (((John)))

I love and appreciate all Vets for their service to this country, it helps us all maintain our freedom. That is the reason as a nurse I chose to work at the VA hospital, and take care of my Vets.

As much as I appreciate the inestimable sacrifice you've made, I can't help thinking:

How cool would it be if we didn't need a Remembrance Day?

Maybe someday. Peace.
