I told my parents that my ankle hurts. My dad said that they should take me to a doctor and my mom sais that if you have been walking on it, you don't need to get it checked out. My dad agreed. Do you think that I should still get it checked out?

Also, my mom says she'll wrap it in an ace bandage but does that mean I need crutches so I don't walk on it?

If you are wondering how I hurt it, I don't know cause it happened like 3 months ago but I think it is hurting again because while i was coming out a carosel booth, i tripped out of it n my ankle and foot hurt really bad so i put ice on it and whenever i walk on it, my ankle feels really tight

I would just wrap your ankle in an ace bandage. Maybe even put some ice on it. (or a frozen bag of veggies or something from the freezer. You may have just twisted it a little being an active person.

If you can't walk on it then you probably need crutches, but sounds like you can walk on it.

I would wait it out a couple days, and if it doesn't get better and swells, or bruises badly, then you may need to go to the doctor. But you sound fine for the time being. Don't go to the doctor unless you absolutely need to. It might just be a waste of money to go and they'll probably tell you to wrap it, ice it, and keep it elevated.

Were you doing some sort of sport? How did you injure your ankle?

Unless there is severe swelling and bruising...chances are you just twinged it a little. You mom is right but I would add that if doesn't getting better in the next 24 hours or it gets worse... then your mom will know to take you the doctors. Your parents will probably give you something for the pain...take it and only when they give it to you. you don't need crutches...just stay off of it and keep you ankle elevated. You will be fine! Don't panic.
