you had to hang them on the line outside and not toss them in a dryer??

Do you ever miss that fresh air smell, especially to your linens??

I remember when we had no clothes dryer and a ringer washer. We had to hang everything on the line and things got stiff. That was o.k. for sheets but jeans and towels/facecloths were like rubbing on a board when first used. The smell of crisp sheets was intoxicating and we always took baths before going to bed that night. It was the cleanest feeling ever. Such a good memory you gave me today. Thanks.

Yes and the men's apparel store had the smell of leather from all the shoes ,briefcases ,leather coats etc. etc. That was also a time when a tailor would measure you for a suit instead of guessing and pulling something off the rack that was manufactured in some remote part of the world. Well at least the bakery still smells like a bakery !

I remember. We'd also use those clothes lines to make tents, and we'd sleep out in the backyard on nice summer nights.
