I have a passion for theatre, and musical theatre. When i go to see a show I get a massive adrenaline rush and for about 3 days after i am constantly singing and dancing wishing i was on the stage. I would love to pursue this as a career but the only thing holding me back is the fact that the job security is low, and there is no garuntee i will get any work. I guess i am just scared that i will fail. Do you think i should take the risk?

Is it a risk or an opportunity? If this is something that you go to bed and wake up thinking about, and if you are prepared to fully dedicate yourself to it even in scant times, then go for it. Job security is an important consideration, but there are few guarantees in life. Do you think that if you neglect this dream that you will be guaranteed to look back on this time of your life years from now with regret? Of course, who's to say that you can't indulge your desire to be on stage while also pursuing a more traditional career?

You never succeed at anything if you don't take the risk. And the bigger the risk, the bigger the reward if you succeed. I spent 8 years trying to make it as a musician. I did okay but never made it famous. It was still worth the 8 years of my life because I learned a lot from the experience.

So if you think you'll look back on your life and live it in regret for NOT trying...you should take the chance and give it your best shot. Though the odds are long, there's the chance that you will make it. Give it a shot and good luck. Break a leg.

no. if you are afraid of failing and are not determined to succeed over all obstacles, you will never make it. musical theatre is the most difficult of all acting professions to get into and has the least amout of employment opportunities.

If you make music for the human needs you have within yourself, then you do it for all humans who need the same things. You enrich humanity with the profound expression of these feelings.

"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." You should definatley pursue a career in acting if it's something you really love to do.

You should go for it. If it's such a passion of yours then you probably have that shine that actors have. Go for it!
