Joe Lieberman lost his bid for the Democratic nomination in 2006 so he ran, and won his seat back, as an Independent.

For a fresh perspective from left there's Dennis Kusinich, if you aren't afraid of little green men. :) He's a little Dovish for me, but he seems honest.

So far as candidates that are truly working for the general public, I'd like to see a race between Dennis Kusinich and Ron Paul. All the rest, Republican and Democrat, are just corporate lap dogs!

We don't elect anybody to be "honest". We want them to do what we want and need as their constituents. The fact that he had opposition means X% will always think they are a moron, until they either retire, are voted out or do somethhing dumb and resign, go to jail or both.

He's not honest. And, He's not a Democrat. And, he certainly is not the only lying politician either, Democrat or Republican. But he certainly has told alot of lies just to get more funding for AIPAC and for this illegal war. He should be ashamed of himself. We need to get the rest of the right wingers out of the Democratic party, especially Diane Feinstein.
Obama and Kucinich, however, are very honest. Joe Lieberman is working for Israel and AIPAC interests, not U.S. interests or the interests of his district.

Lieberman is not a Democrat. He ran and won as an independent. He thinks that the President is the best thing since sliced bread.

I'm getting the impression over time that he may be the only democrat with the moral fortitude to say what he believes and to hell with the possible political backlash - and, for what it's worth, on the other side of the isle, I believe that attribute applies equally to George Bush.

I wouldn't trust Lie-berman any farther than I could throw him. He's a Democrat in name only and a disgrace to the party.

I certainly hope not. I hate to generalize, but i hope that the majority of Democrats are simply mistaken and not dishonest.

I do my best to educate them.
