i am auditioning for lady larken
and im not sure how to portray the character.
For my audition i have to sing "In a little while"
so any help w/ that??
and also does anyone know the website where i can find the sheet music for the song?? Thanks so much in advance =]]

The song is about having a baby, in case you don't know. Lady Larken is a sweet, young leading lady - not really an ingenue, since she is fooling around with her boyfriend. She's not a slut, either though - just a nice young woman who's really in love and wants a family with her boyfriend.

Hehehe! I was Lady Larken in a production of Once Upon a Mattress.
She's very sweet, a tiny bit airheaded, very much a lady (except for the fact that she is pregnant now). She is terrified about this and will do anything to get the prince married. She likes to be taken care of though.. even though she isn't terribly wimpy- she dresses up as a boy to escape to Normandy!
Your director or musical director should have the sheet music available for practice- ask them for a copy!

I don't remember the song even tho I directed the show many
years ago. You can get the music from the director of the show. Why choose one part to audition for? You should just want to be in the show and be happy with whatever they cast you as lead, or chorus. That makes you a good actor.
