Yes and no. Rap is hugely popular now, and we live in the age were middle school kids have private access to birth control pills at school!!! However, it is impossible to blame any one thing for society's situation today, so it is not entirely rap's fault. Though it can be degrading to women, sexually explicit, and encouraging breaking the law, it would be senseless to blame rap for all of these problems in America today. However, I'll put it like this; rap certainly isn't encouraging sexual abstinence.

not necessarily, but they definitely promote sexism, objectifying women, and the whole "sexy women win at life" idea.
It's really shocking to see a little 12 year old dress like a $5 hoe, really, but that's what the media is doing.

No, the people who listen to explicit lyrics are already at risk. I've watched hundreds of shoot-em-up movies and never once considered killing anyone.
