Your boots should fit pretty tight but not tight enough to cause pain or make your foot go numb. If your toes are slightly touching to the end of your boots with some thick socks on then you should be fine. Plus your boots are gonna "pack out" over time.
If your feet are still growing or if your toes touch with regular socks on then you may have a problem.
If you havent trimmed your toe nails in awhile that can make a big difference believe it or not.

Okay, i know exactly how you feel. I wear size 11 shoes, and my old Vans snowboard boots were size 11's, they fit perfectly. But since I wore out those, last year I decided to buy new boots and my friend was able to get me a sweet deal on some DC boots. So, i told him go ahead and order me a pair of 11's. When they arrived, guess what? they were too small. My toes were being pressed up against the front of the boot and I knew it was going to hurt when I got up the mountain. So I tried a 11.5 but they were kind of borderline. I ended up with a size 12 boot, but it was too wide, so I had to have inserts put in them... now they fit great. After all that, come to find out I'm not the only person that experienced that the DC boots tend to run a little small. If you read some of the reviews on DC boots you'll see that other people have had the same experience. After all that I really like my DC boots, and now that I know what size I need and that I would need to put inserts, I'd buy them again.

The liner by itself should fit snug and when in the boot you will want your toes to be just tight but not bent or smashed. Most shops will try to size boots too tight - yes they will pack out but in my experience it will only be 1/4 to 1/2 size.

If they are tight enough to cause numb feet, they are too tight and your feet will be cold. Buy the size that is just barely comfortable with a thin sock, then when they pack out a little you can wear a regular thickness sock and they should be just right.

Good Luck
