Being depressed has nothing to do with emo's. Yes, some of them are... there are also a lot that aren't depressed! Same with other people... some people are, some people aren't. It just comes across that way through their clothing and music tastes. I know a lot of people who are known as emo's who are by no means depressed.
And it deffinitly isn't something you would brag about if you were!

I'm sure if you were to ask anyone what is cool about being depressed they would say nothing. It has no special feeling and you just feel down all the time, but there is a reason to this emotion. People don't just decide to feel sad. You should really think about your questions carefully.

Labels and stereotypes are stupid and are just used by ignorant people who can't see the individuality we are all blessed with.
"Emo," "prep," "goth" or anything like that, is stupid. Not everyone is the same, no two people are alike.
You really shouldn't try making a general statement about a group of people, it only shows that you're prejudiced against difference.

i am in highschool and have had a lot of friends go through that stage... i have had many bad experiences with "emo" people... being emo has become a "cool" thing to do but what most people don't know is that it is an affliction... people who are emo have chronic depression and don't know how to deal with it... it is an illness... it is like wanting to have cancer because u think that it looks or seems "cool" its not... everyday numerous amounts of people die from suicide and homicide from chronic depression... many people have it and have made it into a "scene" thing to do and it is litterally butchering the lives of people in college or highschool... a more appropriate term that is used for this whole emo deal is STUPID

oh my gosh people shut up with this already not all emo people are depressed it's just a style now okay? just like the punk style or the preppy style...okay emo's just a new thing so that's why people are all carrying on about it
