So what is a good price for a high school math tutor. I tutor for geometry, and Algebra I and II. My stepmom says that I could make more. If you're a tutor or have ever had one how much was charged?

I'm 18. I'm in higher level calculus right now. I made in the range of 94 - 97 in Geometry and 97-100 in both Algebra I and II. I tutored this lady that went to a local community college to take Algebra and helped her go from a D to a B. I also used to help for NHS hours in the Algebra II class and the teacher recomended me for private tutoring.

If you're still in high school, 10-15/hr
if you're in college, 20-25/hr
if you have your bachelor's, 25-30/hr
if you have a teaching certificate or degree, up to 60/hr
I have my bachelors+teaching experience, i get 40-50/hr.
Note also, if you live in an area with money, but where the schools are bad, you can drive your price up another 5-10 because you are a commodity and people have cash to pay. I always try to quote a $15 range and if people are like Great! i charge the high end and if people are uneasy i make it seem like i'm doing them a favor and charge 5 less than the low end :-)

You need to tell us how old you are and what experience you have. Most tutoring gigs go from 30-60 dollars an hour.

How old are you? What grade are you in? Do you have a degree? What experience do you have? The answers to all of the above questions influence the amount you can charge. But, I think a minimum of $8-10/hour per person is fair if you are qualified.

Privately, $20/hour. If you work for a service, I think they charge $40 and give you 20.

You need to compare prices with other tutors. Go to sites where many tutors hang out: http://www.tuitionplaza.com/tutoring/

The going rate is $44 an hour...but you can give discounts after the first hour or more hours per week...don't forget you have to supply your own transportation and meals etc.
