As an initial point, Hillary is not proposing national health insurance. She is proposing mandatory health insurance (with mandates on both insurance companies and individuals).

Basically, the proposal is that you will have to buy health insurance and that insurance companies will not be able to exclude you. To the extent that some people are not able to afford insurance, there will be the right to buy into the plans used by government employees at a price adjusted based on income. This proposal is very similar to the program established by Governor Romney in Massachusetts.

To the extent that the program does involve additional government expense for those needing help paying for health insurance, most of the expense will be paid for by allowing the ill-conceived tax cuts for the top 5% of wealth and income passed in 2001 to expire in 2011.

The same way anyone else is going to pay for it. You really don't think it's just Hillary that's putting this forth do you? Over 70% of the American public is in favor of UHC. It's likely this will become a reality no matter who is voted into office.

Rolling back the tax cuts for the wealthy. Billions will come from the current welfare and other government health programs that won't be needed any longer. The economists I have heard speak about it have analyzed the costs and have the opinion our taxes will go up by a much smaller margin than many will believe. It isn't as though if she's elected we'll have UHC the next day. It will have to go through Congress and Lord knows that many changes will occur before a plan is settled on and put to a vote. It's likely we won't actually see UHC until the second term of the next President, if they win a second term.

Well, as long as the old girl doesn't get into office, that won't be an issue, will it? :3

I mean, come on! She flip-flops on the issues like she was a catfish who jumped onto a hot, dry wooden bridge. You're practically voting for George Bush again if you choose Hillary. She did go to the White House and got practically brainwashed as to how to run the country by Dubya. I don't want him or anyone who thinks like him in office for a third time, thank you.

sure i've got seen her little 12 website gloss over. while invoice positioned her in charge of it, and it failed so miserably, it became because of the fact she positioned out 1200 pages of it and the fact became there for all to work out. This time she places out a 12 website bullet element rfile that tells you no longer something with regard to the authentic costs. She has a minimum of discovered her lesson from the final time. tell them no longer something, get it exceeded, then screw the hell out of all and sundry.

She will probably print money, and raise taxes. We do not keep track of how much money is in circulation anymore...Which is why the Dollar is failing. Yes, stock markets are up, but the world is thinking seriously of getting rid of the dollar.

1) Heavy Tax
2) Import more doctors
3) Print more money

"National health care" is Unconstitutional

ANY health care of that type cannot Constitutionally go above state level. Dont expect her to follow that tho. To most its a "living document" that can be interpreted by each president differently.

Like the first person said--read about her plan.
Personally, I'd like to see it limited to children--those under 18, as a working definition. Most adults see the culprit for their bad health every time they look into the mirror. You can't fault kids for their parents being poor and/or making bad health decisions that affect them.
Maybe employers will do more to insure their employees, instead of taking the low road--like outsourcing.

She'll start digging for the billions in budget surplus that her husband had entrusted to George, stop the Iraq war and save $300 million a day. I wish her lots of luck.

Sadly, not out of her own pocket. It would be out of all of ours who already have health insurance, and those who would otherwise afford it but their employer stopped offering it as a benefit because the government offers it for "free." We'd pay for it through a federal income tax every pay day. And to pay for such a humongous undertaking, a huge chunk will be taken out, even more than now.
