According to them, Slipknot is just a bunch of fruits in masks lol. (after reading that quote I had to ask this xD
They're good but A7X is better.

not that i dont like slipknot, they're aweosme.
im just more familiar with a7x. and listening to their music brings back memories lol.

I am an A7X fan. I never really got into Slipknot I heard a few songs and never really cared for them. A7X all the way! I mean you have Johnny ****** Christ! Synyster ****** Gates....The REV!...M.Shadows...and Zacky ****** Vengeance....(lol why I keep repeating ****** Idk...)...The new cd shows a different side of A7X....Dear God is so sweet when you really listen to it....I love them...and plus you can't find better guitarists and drummer like Zacky Syn and the rev

If you really had to chose I would say Slipknots Old Material CD 1 and CD 2. Slipknot and Slipknot : Iowa both at the time were masterpieces although I believe that Slipknot:Iowa has more hate,anger,and explicit lyrics than Their first one. All the other cd's after IOWA have been mellowed out ****.
Although at this time both bands are greatly a Sell out, I still think Avenged Sevenfold is much more for the Poser crowd than Slipknot.
Avenge Sevenfold attracts more chick fans than guy fans to, probably because they fancy their faces up before they go on mtv, but yeah.

As much as I like A7X, I will have to go with Slipknot right now. I think that their masks show originality in who they really are. They are coming back in 2008 and I can't wait to see them perform. It will definitely be something that will be worth going to.

A7X is better but I mostly like their older stuff like songs off of the Waking The Fallen album. Their self titled album is good too but they don't scream anymore!!!
