less than 2 weeks for the actual nicotine to be cleansed from your system. Take lots of showers, tub baths are more soothing, to help cleanse the pores as your body purges.
And drink water! Important to flush your body and help it cleanse.

Take walks, try to fill your time with different things so you don't slip back into the "habit". There's a lot of empty space in your time in a day, devoted to "the habit" of picking up a cigarette.
The habit and the mind addiction will take longer which is why you need a game plan of what you intend to do to fill the spaces before you quit.
Makes it so much easier.

You'll probably want to snack more. Food is unbelievably delicious so plan ahead with low cal snacks for yourself to help curb weight gain.
Bloatedness is normal for a couple months but that will go away. Every cell in your body depends on that nicotine hit so every cell will be very confused for awhile. It all passes and you won't believe the difference in the way you feel, the way you sleep, the way you look.

Smoked 30 years, was up to 2 1/2 packs a day, and quit about this time, 17 years ago. Never been so proud, nor felt so free and empowered in my life. Just do it!!

since you smoke that much everyday, your body got adjusted having these poisons running ur body. That's why people with more serious drug problems can actually die by quiting abruptly. You hav to take decrease your amount of cigarettes maybe every few weeks or whatever you're comfortable with. The reason why you were coughing and stuff (tryign to not smoke) was because your body was so used to having 2-5 cigarettes a day. So each week you should decrease slowly from 2-4cigarettes, then another few weeks, 2-3, then so on.

Well, I haven't had a cigarette in a year and a half. About 6 months ago, I was still having the occasional smoking dream. These days, I still want a cigarette sometimes, when driving once in a while, or maybe after a good meal, or when I smell my brand being smoked. I don't know if the nicotine ever left my system. ;) The best way to find this out might be to ask your doctor.

Nicotine isnt something that just gets out of ur system rite away. It will take some time and also, if you have been smoking for a while, it will be a burden later on your life when you get older like (50s or 60s)

Most of it is out of your system in 3 or 4 days, however, there will traces in your body for about 6 weeks.

Of course, if you use the patch or nicotine gum you will have nicotine in your system while you are weaning yourself off the cigarettes.

I quit about 14 years ago and nicotine in your system or not is not an issue when quitting... the issue is beating the cravings. I still have the urge .... every once in a while!!!!

Cotinine is the metallobite left in your body after smoking cigarettes and after the nicotine stops effecting your brain. The longest it will take to disapate is 4-7 days, as it's not like marijuana, which is fat soluble, which is why it takes so long for it to get out of your system.

As far as I know, it takes 3 days to clear out of your blood. As far as getting rid of what's in the fatty tissue and the spinal cord, it's anyone's guess. But for the urge to go away is something else completely. But to quit takes only one day, just remember that this is the day.

3 days and nicotine is gone but I think takes 5yrs after quitting to become as healthy and imune as before starting.
