Baseball. Football is a dumb brute sport. It takes no intellegence to play. Your either fast or strong. Whoopty. The action is too slow. They are resting between plays, kicking balls around, chasing each other. Pretty lame if you ask me.
Baseball is a man's sport. It not only requires you to be fast and strong, but also agile and have a mastery of dexterity. Hand eye coordination is key here. Also, it is the only sport w/ a 1 on 1 matchup (batter/pitcher) where 2 people go head to head to battle it out for all the marbles. Hitting a baseball is the HARDEST thing to do in sports. There are so many strategies in baseball, different types of pitchers, hitters, and 2 styles in 2 different leagues. The possibilties are endless. Plus in baseball you NEVER know what's going to happen. There is always something happening that hasn't happened in 100 years or so.
In football the quarterback doesn't throw any different types of throws like a curve. You either run or pass. It's so simple and dumb. That's why there's a study done on IQ of football fans vs baseball fans and baseball fans were shown to be smarter than football fans.
Basically, if your a kitty that likes to play w/ shiny things watch the NFL. But if your an evolved homosapien that needs mental as well as physical warfare, then baseball is the only place to be!! Nuff said.

Hands down baseball is my favorite.
But I love to watch football.
While football is rough sport, it's not all about size and strength.
Look at a guy like Peyton Manning for example.
He is a very smart player, with all of the audibles and reading defenses.
And then look at Greg Maddux on the mound.
Both are masters at what they do.
Whether its reading defenses or outsmarting a hitter, both take an incredible amount of inteligence and athleticism.

Baseball, no question.
I'll watch football, but I can never get as excited about it as I get about baseball. I guess we all have that one sport that we love above all others, and for me, baseball is that sport.

Obviously, you think BASEBALL and I agree.
I grew up playing pickup games with my siblings and the neighborhood kids, and even now (I am in my mid-thirties) there is just something wonderful about the crack of the bat hitting the ball. I hear that sound and all the tension drains out of my body.
Even thinking about it lightens my heart. I close my eyes and I can smell the fresh-cut grass, hear the vendors calling "Popcorn! Peanuts!", hear the slap of leather on leather as the ball drills into the catcher's mitt, feel the warm summer sun soaking into my bones on this cold November night.
Even after the players' strikes of '81 and '94; Pete Rose and his gambling, the cocaine scandal of 1985, the recent steroid investigations, and multi-million dollar salaries, when you strip all of that garbage away, there is something so pure and simple and beautiful about the game, something so uncomplicated, it's just fundamental physics and kids having fun.
It's childhood gone but not forgotten, a piece of one's innocence that has not been lost, a warm summer day with perfect blue skies and nothing to do until school starts in the fall.
Thanks for asking the question!

Baseball. Football is just an excuse for guys to show that they are tough, which they think means that you must jump on men and lay on them.

If it werent for gambling and office pools, football would be as popular as bowling. You get about four minutes of action in an entire game after you factor in clock time, penalties and the like. Football is the game they would have invented in Dumb and Dumber. Fortunately for the writers, the game was already invented so they didnt have to work it in.
