I recently bought an HP Pavillion DV 6000 Notebook with Windows Home Premium and since I have an internet connection I also bought a Belkin wireless router for it. My problem is everytime I want to use the internet on my notebook it either:

A) Does not connect at all and a message saying "Unsuccesfully Connected" shows up
or
B) I connect to the internet but after awhile (about 10 or 15 min. later) it no longer loads any web pages but yet it still shows me having an active internet connection between the router and the computer.

I have reset the router, reset the notebook, moved closer to the router, reset the internet modem, tried repairing the connection, reinstalled Windows and I have even directly connected the notebook to the router. Nothing seems to work and yes I do have a strong signal. I dont know what to do. Why cant I connect to the internet wirelessly? If I do connect, why doesnt it load any web pages anymore wirelessly or wired? Please this is driving me crazy.

try choosing a different security setting like wep or wpa. also try using a different channel. My best bet is that the router either is faulty or needs a firmware upgrade. you should return the router as it should work without you having to do anything like that. I would suggest a linksys wrt54g unit. they are worth the extra money. also contact your isp to double check your settings. prob not but if you want to try everything.

the fault is more than likely NOT your Notebook.

I work on these daily

turn off the computer. Unplug the router and modem ability cords. Wait approximately 30 seconds and plug the modem decrease back in. Wait a jiffy till all the light fixtures come decrease back up on it and then plug the router decrease back in. back wait some minute and boot your computer decrease back up. this could completely refresh the community connections. If this would not advance your situation, i could take the computer someplace like a coffee save or e book save, that has loose WIFI get admission to. connect with their community and notice if an identical problems happen. If it would not then your router is in all likelihood loss of life. If it does then something is incorrect on your computer. you could try updating the community adapter drivers from the producer's internet site (the cardboard producer if achieveable, no longer Dell.) If that would not help you're transforming into to be a community adapter that needs to get replaced. you additionally can try updating the firmware on the router yet make certain you analyze precisely a thank you to do it to your router first. you could kill a router in case you do it incorrect.

Hi. If you have tried a wire to the router and it still does not work you may have a poor router. In that case the wireless end may have little to do with your problem.
