How do they behave over 11-year cycles? What other features of the solar atmosphere are related to sunspots?

Sunspots appear when magnetic field lines, which have been twised by the sun's rotation, break through the surface.

Hi. How? Still unknown but has an obvious connection to magnetic fields. CMAs are connected as is the corona.
