My daughter made a quilt top and I need to hire someone to finish it. I am providing all the supplies and we only want it tied. So set up-Tying-binding, twin size. How much should I expect to pay?

I can only speak for myself, I am in Wisconsin.but I have charged between 8$ and 10$ an hour for such things. I can't imagine it taking more than 10 hrs to tie - so I can't imagine paying more than $100.00. I might suggest...If you are interested, for about the same price, you could find someone who does machine quilting with a "Statler Stitcher" (computer run) - If you ask for an "edge to edge design" it would cost you about that same price and you can pick the design, size etc. Check with your local quilt shop for a referral or google tying instructions. Good Luck

Depends on where you are. My suggestion would be to call as many sewing/quilting centers that you have in your area or even contact a local quilting bee/group and get some estimates.

I quilt for my own enjoyment and can tell you that with a book or two nights at a quilting group your daughter could do this herself and save a lot of money and have something amazing to cherish forever.

Good luck!

I live in MA and it would cost around $200 without the actual quilting being done.

I don't know off hand, but I'd suggest going to a quilting supply store and see how much it would be to teach her how to finish it. A couple of lessons would be such a great help for her.

My 13 year old daughter has made a number of quilts already. Same with my 15 year old. Our youngest is learning because of a quilting group at church, she's the youngest there. Our oldest has been learning in school.

I really suggest her helping in finishing it, it would be such a great feeling of accomplishment.

Send it to me. I'll finish it free. All you pay is postage.
