just spent the afternoon with my ex(We split up a couple of years ago&neither of us have really had a serious relationship since,we're very over each other but we have stayed really close friends-only friends!)He rang me earlier to hang out & we spent the afternoon together, which we do a lot. Most of the time he seemed distracted (although this isn't unusual for him)&/or kept making little digs at me. I tried to be bubbly&cheer him up&when this didn't work I thought he might need to talk, so after a walk we dropped in at our local. He explained he was just stressed with work&wasn't getting on with his family,he needed to go&speak to them (not long ago)I just called to check it went ok(he seemed v.down) he's out with 2 friends & this woman I know he likes! why lie?Call me up to be moody/distracted with me all afternoon? He wears me out &end up feeling bad as I think It must be something I do to make him down? It's almost like he feels obliged to spend time with me, I don't ask him to!!

He wants to be with this woman but he can't. He uses you for company. He makes digs at you to put you down so it makes him feel better. He is distracted because he is thinking of anything else but being with you.

You are a the only one who will put up with his childish mood & insults.

You have become a victim.

You should spend your valuable time with someone who doesn't wear you down. He is not your responsibility. I am not surprised he doesn't get on with his family either,by acting this way.
He sounds like he is depressed & you should tell him to go to the doctor as you will not be a victim for his moods & constant digs! You have become a listening ear & don't deserve to be treated this way.He will bring you down with him. He will start to improve when no one is there for him to perform too.

I used to know someone just like that!

Did you know a girls mentality is different from a guys when hanging out with their ex? I talked this over with my b/f earlier today cuz I hang out with one of my ex's and he says for the guy, it's just the hope of getting some action whether he says so, acts so or not. He lies cuz he doesn't want to hurt you, I think his mentality might be you still like him.

Ahh he's probably a little torn , on the one hand he has a history with you that he is familure with , but just because he is interested in her doesn't meen she is in any way part of his future , for one reason or another , the future is where the importance is You're like a sister if nothing else

If you dont want to be a doormat...get up off the floor. You are not responsible to "cheer him up' and if you take on this job, you'll keep getting what you get. Move on!!!!!
