I used windows XP. and last night i downloaded kodak easyshare for my friend's camera. when i tried to start the program, the computer restarter for no reason. when the desktop showed up again, a bubble that said "found new hardware (camera name)". the bubble went away, and the computer restarted again. I tried to use safe mode, but the monitor says "no signal input" in a blue box, shuts off, then re-appears. As if it couldn't get any worse, the computer no longer is capable of using safe mode, and it just restarts when you turn it on.

so far, it seems like the cpu is no good anymore..

XP appears messed up. Try XP's auto repair. Here's how:

If the machine is not getting to OS, try removing whatever new peripherals you have plugged in (have you recently plugged a camera into it?) remove that and see if you can get safe mode again then when it starts use system restore (to find out how to do this go to HELP and type "system restore") to revert to setup prior to installation.

If that doesnt work~
Have you got the original xp cd?

Boot the machine with it in and use the repair option. This should fix the problem.

Once you've got it going~

Open System in Control Panel.
On the Advanced tab, under Startup and Recovery, click Settings.
Under System Failure, UNCHECK "Automatically reboot". This specifies that Windows will automatically restart your computer, and is what was causing your problem with rebooting.

Hopefully that should get you out of trouble.
