How do you contend with difficult subordinates or peers?

Co-workers and/or subordinates can be knuckleheads sometimes. Dealing with them is a difficult task if one intends to maintain good morale in the workplace.

Subordinates, I tell them to clock out and go home. Co-workers, I don't have to deal with them. I work agency so I can tell them what I think of them and still have a job tomorrow, just not at the same place.
