I sit for hours in front of this
mesmerizing screen and my
bum goes numb. This chair is
hard and uncomfortable.
Where can I buy a nice/soft/
adjustable/computer chair...
for next to nothing???
Online would be best as I
don't have a car to run around.
I'm thinking of going on
Craigslist,but would probably
get bilked. Any help???

Maybe you just need one of those donut cushions to help your bum. would be a cheaper thing to try first. good luck

Wal*Mart sells chair cushions which will make your sitting a bit more comfy. The thinner cushion will work best. The Goodwill Industries also has a great selection of furniture that they take in. Take a trip to their store or call them ahead of time to see if they have a computer chair. They have some pretty nice items there & the prices are reasonable also. :)

I got mine from the second hand office furniture store that USED TO BE located at the end of the street, near the school where I drop my grandsons off each day.

I picked one of the top of the line chairs though, because it has to withstand the collective seatting preferences of all four of the adults that live in this house...and my oldest daughter is a very substantial woman!

Mine is oxblood leather with a four inch thick foam on the seat itself. I've had it for over two years, and to get it home (since it has wheels) I just pushed it down the roadway.

Oh, and I paid $100 for it.

Try ebay and amazon. Sometimes you can find what you want used. The only problem is the shipping could cost more than the chair. Maybe someone could take you to a swap meet or a few yard sales and flea markets.

Check with thrift stores, they have all kinds of things for low prices. Often people or business get new things and want to get rid of their old ones. Spread the word so others can be on the lookout for a chair for you. The more folks who know, the more likely you are to find one.

I just bought a nice office chair at Office Max for $149. It has a pneumatic lift, five legs with casters, back support and headrest, adjustable arms and a seat that will accommodate my big bum. I even put it together myself, and followed instructions exactly and wound up with five bolts left over. (?)

Have a look around your local dump/tip/rubbish disposal site. Ask the attendant if you can take that nice chair you will see.
But spend money to get it fumigated, deloused and cleaned.

Go to WWW.FREECYCLE.ORG, (click on GROUPS on Yahoo) sign up, then post a WANTED: COMPUTER CHAIR. Folks GIVE things away. They post WANTS and OFFERS. AND ...it's ALL FREE! You have to pick up the things on your own, though, or if the folks are REALLY nice, some folks actually deliver.
Good luck!

I find if you limit your sitting to no more than 2 hours, you bum will not go numb. A donut hole cushion may work.

Wal mart has some pretty comfy ones.
Try www.freecylce.org or get a memory foam cushion.
