Well some people believe it makes what ever your saying sound more important. I think that it makes you sound less intelligent. They never used to say think like that on TV but now you can get away with it because almost everyone has a TVO or DVR and can block channels so kids won't hear it. Oh and also because moral standards have go down in the country.

This depends on what you're asking. If you're asking why movies and tv are so profane, that depends on what kind of show we're talking about. The show Deadwood was so profane because that's how people spoke in that town at that time. Some people are just trying to sound cool, but most filmmakers are attempting to mimic the way real people talk to each other in real life situations. It depends on the type of movie or tv program, for sure.
However, if you are asking why such vulgar language has become so much a part of mainstream culture, most of that started in WWII. Around 26 million young Americans, mostly young men around 21 years old, were stationed overseas during 1941-1945. Most had never been away from home, and learned to speak candidly to one another in the same language they picked up from their drill instructors. When they came home, many continued to use these these colorful new words. And, who can blame them. If I had just defeated evil around the world, I think I'd like to be able to say whatever the fu@k I wanted. It didn't happen overnight, though, it trickled down from the all male boardrooms of the 50's and up from the less fortunate veterans on the streets.
Interestingly, the tradition of hazing in fraternities started in a similar way. Veterans came home and went to college on the GI Bill. They were older than most of their classmates, and had seen and done things their younger counterparts couldn't have imagined. The vets came up with different ways for the younger men to "prove" themselves worthy of brotherhood. Funny how we distort these traditions over the years. I bet that no man who stormed the beach at Normandy would consider running across a room with a lit cigarette stuck between your butt cheeks worthy of anything other than an @ss kicking.

To catch peoples attention, like, in the commercial they would show a scene where they mention the F Word, but bleep it out somehow (summer '07, Georgia Rules). Then, a bunch of drunks, or teenage kids are like, 'I wanna see that!'.
I've noticed how there aren't very many romance-romance movies, without the bad language, naughty stuff, and violence.

The censors keep lowering the bar; for the shock effect; because now they're allowed to be as vulgar as possible.
