"V"'s are never put on silver stars.

What was Kerry trying to do to win votes?

"Former Navy Secretary John Lehman has no idea where a Silver Star citation displayed on Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry's campaign Web site came from, he said Friday. The citation appears over Lehman's signature.

"It is a total mystery to me. I never saw it. I never signed it. I never approved it. And the additional language it contains was not written by me," he said.

The Valor device, also known as a combat distinguishing device, V-device, "V" device, and Combat V, is an award of the United States military which is authorized by the military services as an attachment to certain awards and decorations.

It is however not attached to the Silver Star since Valor is denoted by the Silver Star medal itself, (thats the whole point of awarding it-valor)it would be attached to the Bronze Star, however. I haven't seen the picture, but I would like to if you have a link.

I am however, wondering how this is relevant 4 years after his run. He isn't running now so its kind oof irrelevent right now

Yeah, I think that is the problem. Remember how Clinton committed perjury and obstruction of justice and he was impeached? Today the Democrats complain that he was impeached for having sex outside of marriage.

And when the sailors accomplished their mission in Iraq and they had that banner on their ship that "mission accomplished?" The Democrats wanted everyone to think that meant "The War is Over." Few democrats will volunteer for military so they lack military knowledge and they think it is easy to convince someone that when the troops are given a mission, and they accomplish it, they have not accomplished thier mission until after the war is over. It never dawns on them why these guys have all these metals and patches before the war ends.

We also see the number of claims by the Democrats about criminal behavior without a stick of proof. That is a lie in itself. If you can't prove it, then it is just a lie.

They say that Bush is so stupid but then claim that he pulled the wool over their eyes time and time again.

But that has always been there way since the Clinton administration. They use to not be that way, but I think since they had power for so long and then lost it in the Presidency, White House, Senate, House of Representatives, and then the Governorships, it scared them so they think the only way to get back in power is to lie. That is why they have their move on dot org site. It was set up to prevent Clinton from being impeached and now they call it an "anti-war" website. LOL! You couldn't make them tell the truth if their life depended on it.

Remember when Bush was the dumb one? Kerry was the smart one. Although Bush got degrees from both Harvard and Yale, but Kerry had better grades? Well we found out after the election that Bush had better grades.

On top of that they claimed that Bush was the "rich oil man." None of them said that Kerry's single airplane was worth more than all of Bush's net worth. After the election it was revealed that Kerry was a billionaire. They still deny that and claim that is his "wife's" money. We all know Laura Bush is destitute, don't we?... because she doesn't have her teacher's job anymore.

Is this a sign of Fraud? I would have to say it very much is. The "V" Device is not authorized for wear on the Silver Star. According to Army Regulation 600-8-22 . Here is the requirments for a "V" device:

The "V" device is a bronze block letter, V, 1/4-inch high with serifs at the top of the numbers. It is worn to denote participation in acts of heroism involving conflict with an armed enemy. It was originally worn only on the suspension and service ribbons of the Bronze Star Medal to denote an award made for heroism (valor). Effective 29 February 1964, the "V" device was also authorized for wear on the Air Medal and Army Commendation Medal for heroic acts or valorous deeds not warranting awards of the Distinguished Flying Cross or the Bronze Star Medal with "V" device. Effective 25 June 1963, the "V" device was authorized additionally for wear on the Joint Service Commendation Medal when the award is for acts of valor (heroism) during participation in combat operations. In the case of multiple "V" devices for the same award, only one "V" device is worn on the service ribbons.

As you can tell from reading the above, his "V" device is not authorized on a Silver Star, so it is a FRAUD

Looks like you missed the boat by a few years. Swift boat, that is. Kerry earned a Silver Star Medal, the V would be superfluous as the medal itself is for valor. Google Silver Star Medal w/V, you'll get 812 results. Maybe you'll find one that fits your criteria.

Maybe this will help. It's called "research" and it's easy to do with "the google" if one is not a lazy parroting worm.

Here's one of the citations, easy to find if you really look (by googling "Kerry silver star citation"):

Of course, your confusion eminates from the fact that he wore a V on his BONZE star, in accordance with the following citation, also easily researched:

So, once again, you try to slime a true war hero to protect the guy who went over the wall when it was his turn. Wasn't that election 3 years ago? How loudly do you have to shout into the mirror to convince yourself that you didn't vote to make our country worse?

Anything you hear about Kerry's military service from anyone assosiated with the 'swift-boaters' is total BS. There never was a 'v'. I wish people who disparage his service had been standing next to him in Vietnam......the fact that anyone would believe the #$% these punks say about the man only tells me that propaganda works...it sucks, but it works. As for you, personally, try to remember that 'bearing false witness' is a sin beside being slander and libel. Don't do it, it makes you look like a slimeball!

John Kerry was defamed by the media through suggestive questions put forth by the conservative spin machine in D.C. This is another example of a cheap shot at a courageous person who holds high ideals and maintains his integrity.

The conservative dirty tricks funding have been fully vetted at this point by NY Times and others. The accusers of Kerry were not even with Kerry during his heroic acts. The testimony of his compatiots have been overwhelmingly positive about his heroism. Kerry is a recognized for his courageous acts in Viet Nam.

What is your motivation?

I suggest that you read "Truth" by Al Franken. I suggest that you stop listening to Rush Limbaugh who came up with lame excuses to avoid serving in Viet Nam. It's funny that the hawkish Limbaugh was a chicken when it came to serving his country. Rush you are lame!

Didn't you guys already do the smear-job on a decorated 'Nam vet already? The election was 3 years ago. The guy and his Vice who both dodged 'Nam won the election.

Time to move on to the next character assassination isn't it?

so your saying he never was awarded the silver star? you're wrong on that one, and if thats now what you're saying, then who cares if the one displayed is not his real one?

You don't have to display you're silver star do you? What you don't have one? Maybe you shouldn't belittle some one who earned one in the service of our nation.
