I want to download my old Empire Earth CD ( it still works ) on my cousin's computer. I put the CD in and I wait for the installation to pop up. Instead it does not pop up and it just makes noises and on the pointer theres a little cd next to it. So i go to My Computer (the place in the computer) and I look for the CD drive driver. Its not there. So yeah. I dont know either if the problem is having no CD drive driver in "My Computer" or if just my CD thing is broken. Help please. I'm only 13. TT

Ok, first off, when you open My Computer, is the CD Drive itself there? If so, and it's not reading the CD, it could be either the CD isn't reading correctly for some reason, the drive itself, or the software drivers aren't loaded properly. If it's not in My Computer, then again, the software drivers aren't loaded. Go to Start then right click on My Computer, select Properties. Then select the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager. Once there, there should be an item listed as DVD/CD-ROM Drives. Click the + next to it, and make sure the CD Drive is listed, then right click it and select uninstall which will uninstall the current drivers, then restart the computer. That should force the system to reinstall the drivers and refresh the information. If it still doesn't work after that, note the model / brand and search for the latest drivers for the CD Drive and install the latest drivers.

You probably don't have a dvd burner. Go to controll panel. Select system. Then select hardware and open up your device manager. Inthere you will see dvd/cd-rom drives open it to see if you have a dvd burner. Please rate my answer
