Well There 3 types of Black people Hair for Example: Fine, Course and Kinky so Why some other people think All Blacks have the same hair Texture! I'm Black woman with Light skin and my hair is In between Fine and Course hair and I put prems in my hair to make it real Straight but Some Black Women say you really don't needs prems you just need to Striaght it and thats it. Sometimes my hair is already Straight! Some blacks have Kinky hair(Thick Hair). My mother is Brown skinned Black and She have natural Striaght Fine hair.

Yes, I did. I'm Black (um...mocha colored?), and I have curly hair that is pin straight I flat iron it (no perms ever!). All the women in my mom's side of the family have curly hair but they've all permed their hair except for me.

OH EM GEE...I don't believe u! And all this time I thought that I was switched at birth and that my biological white mom would come take me away from these black ppl that call themselves my parents....Did u know that in Ethiopia alone there are over 70 tribes? In all of Africa there are hundreds of thousands of tribes, all with different geographical elements and with varied amount of contact with Middle eastern, Asian, Mediterranean , and European contact. That being said, there will of course be different types of hair- some very tightly curled others with looser curl patterns...is one more beautiful than the other...no just different. What's most disconcerting is that I detect some desperation in ur question, like u really want ppl to know that u don't have 'nappy hair' ...the house slave comment was dead on lmao! Oh and by the way, u relax ur hair not perm it. Perms make ur hair even curlier, genius.

There aren't "types" of "black people hair". There are "types" of HAIR, and they exist in all groups of people whether you or anyone else wants to exercise enough common sense to recognize that or not.
To add (regarding what has been said about "kinky" hair). Kinky actually describes small, tight curls. And one need not have course hair (common texture thought of as "black hair") to have kinky hair. If you hear someone use the word "kinky", please pay attention to context and attitude (as the person may very well NOT have offensive intentions).

LOL-Uhm Extreme-what 'white supremacist' website did you get THAT from? Most animals have the hair texture of white people. Dogs, monkeys, goats-so what are you talking about? The closest thing you could come up with is a black gorilla (which white supremacists love to use as examples of how blks are similar to apes bc of its dark face & wide nose) and sheep. Most animals also have pale skin. But we can't be THAT different regardless bc each race is able to procreate with the other. Your answer will probably get deleted so I shouldn't even had bothered but still.........lol.
EDIT Kelis-I'm replying to Extreme's post crazy girl-or whatever/whomever you are!
OK I ADMIT THE MYSTERY IS KILLING ME-KELIS JORDAN-WHAT/WHO THE HE LL ARE YOU?
OK EXTREME fair enough, pls point me in the right direction. Where can I begin to find this info. Bc I googled it & nothing came up, & we all know google can find ANYTHING (sorry Yahoo). So a book title, maybe a website I overlook-something. BTW since when doesn't fur grow?
KELIS-everyone has seen your profile, I mean NO who are you REALLY. You've had about 4 different aliases. You were even pretending to be asian at some point-might still be.

first and best suited you have chose to apply hair care products that are designed for texture of hair so as that it could have the right moisture. I advise Revlon's porosity administration shampoo and conditioner. in case you basically could do your hair your self i could advise you employ and electric powered iron fairly than to apply an iron that ought to be heated up on a range. additionally, be beneficial to apply slightly waving wax with regards to the dimensions of a a million/2 of a dime if no longer much less. This additionally protects your hair from the warmth. Take small sections while smoothing your hair ranging from root to ends. do no longer try this on a daily basis. as quickly as each and every week is adequate. to maintain sleep in a satin bonnet. i desire this helps. reliable luck.

I've seen an African woman with an indescribable hair texture...it was almost like curls, but the curls were almost angular instead of round. And her hair was really long and it layed flat against her head. I don't know what that is, its sort of like really loose kinks you could say.
Anyway, kinky hair isn't actually all that thick. The strands of my hair, which is kinky, are extremely thin but they appear to be thick when unstraightened.

I saw one or two films on the social implications of "nappy" hair. I never realized it was such an issue until the question of dreadlocks became like a political statement of identity.
I recommend the film "Nappy" which you can track on the Austin Women's Film Festival site
http://www.blowinupaspot.com
I am friends with the festival curator, who is African American and very concerned about diverse women's issues and how these are presented in the various media.

Honestly you sound really dumb. Who cares? Why are you advertising this to people like this is important news? Guess what I am Black with KINKY hair! Is that OK with your curly-haired ignorant self? I guess your hair texture is supposed to be an upgrade from my kinky hair, right? You sound like a brainwashed house slave.
House slave: "Hey we are better than the slaves in the field, they are dark with nappy hair and we are light skinned with curly hair, cuz thank God our white master raped our mother and rid us of this blackness, now we don't have to be in the field, i mean we're still slaves but at least we're in the house and one step closer to whiteness!"
Listen, please i do not need you or want you to speak for Black people's hair or features, it doesn't matter how straight your hair is that won't stop discrimination, racism, and Don-Imus like comments! You need to get a clue, and understand that straight hair does not equal beauty. Check the book list.

The answer to your question is YES. I DO know this.
I also know your blood is red and if you really are a woman as you say, you have 2 X chromosomes and I do not. And so what? Exactly why should I even CARE? Is my life or your life better now than before? Why did you ask a question and then provide a lengthy explanation as an answer? What IS your point?

You're right but people are ignorant. That's why it's a good idea for all hair types to try different hair products to see what works for YOU rather than staying in the box of "black hair" or whatever.

FACT:
kinky, nappy those are all racists terms used by white people wayy back then to describe the texture of their slaves hair
(read a good book then you'll see what i mean!)
ppl need to stop using it and we need to make up a new word to describe our hair texture!
